Bio and Experience
Simon Hansford founded Network Foods in 2009 after identifying a strong demand for trusted, preimum quality products from Chinese and other consumers in the South East Asian region. With his experience in the dairy manufacturing industry since 1980, he has a thorough knowledge of both the manufacturing process, and an intimate understanding of the culture in China and how to navigate complex supply channels and ensure regulatory compliance.
Simons experience is very much hands on, working in the processing and product development of such products as high fat indulgent ice cream, soft serve powdered ice cream, fresh Greek style yogurt, Belgium Drinking Chocolate, Milk powder blends and finally building an infant formula plant in 2009 . Simon has always serviced Chinese consumers both locally and in China, and has an indepth knowledge and understanding of target consumers needs, and the logistics, regulations and distribution channels to service them. Simon was also at the forefront of the industry in the early eighties when the Victorian Food Safety Regulations and HACCP certification was implemented. The Hansford family along with a very passionate team are committed to the highest standards of integrity, excellence, performance and food safety in dealing with local and international customers.

Network Foods has evolved from its origins as Gold Cow Australia which was founded in 2009 after identifying a strong demand for quality dairy product from China and other countries in the Autralian /New Zealand region. The primary focus of Network Foods Australia is quality produce and quality delivery– protecting the health of the most important customers –families and children. NFA competes on quality, not price, so customers are assured that they are getting the highest quality ingredients and nutritional value available, supported by the Australian and NZ Government.
With the advantage of decades of industry knowledge and experience in the Australian milk powder and dairy sector distributing throughout Asia, the extensive network of NFA has been building and consolidating expertise to offer this assurance and service to the grocery and food services sector to capitalise on the maturing international buyers and their growing demand for safe quality assured international grocery and food service products, particularly from Australia and New Zealand. As a result, Network Foods has built strong business relationships with an extensive network of independent local manufacturing plants, farmers and dairies to ensure premium quality ingredients and continuity of supply to the Asian and international markets.

In Oct 2012 the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People’s Republic of China (GAQSIA) established a registration system for all importers, exporters and overseas manufacturers to ensure the quality of imported food. This system ensures the traceability of Food from the manufacturer through the entire supply chain to the Chinese retailer.
